Ikuyo is a balanced matcha with astringency, umami, and sweetness in proportion. Its medium-light body is joined by a gentle, but bright aroma, like sun-dried straw. Also characterized as: a medium-bodied matcha with a refreshing bitterness that is slightly more noticeable than its sweetness and umami.

Usage Notes

Good option for everyday teatime as usucha, served straight and with cookies/cakes/sweets. One of Ippodo's top recommendations for matcha latte -- slight astringency pairs well with milk, bright green color makes for a photogenic beverage.
