Abstract

Properties such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic derive from the rich nutritional composition of curmuma (Curcuma longa L.) and matcha green tea (Camellia sinensis). The content of macro- and microelements of curcuma and matcha green tea was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The samples were digested using nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide in a microwave assisted digestion system. After optimizing the sample preparation method, the element content was determined by ICP-AES and ICP-MS methods: Ag, Al, As, Ba, Be, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ga, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, Pb, Rb, Se, Sr, Te, Tl, V and Zn. The content of macro- and microelements differs within the same plant species and within turmeric and matcha green tea.
