Description
Organic Uji matcha from Uji, Kyoto, where Japanese matcha has been cultivated for over 800 years. This everyday Classic Blend is blended by an experienced Uji tea house from first and second spring organic tencha and stone-milled in small batches. JAS certified organic, it is smooth and gently umami with a light, clean astringency — comfortable in a traditional chawan and especially good in a matcha latte, hot or iced. Origin Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan — the historic heart of Japanese matcha cultivation. Certification JAS certified organic (Japanese Agricultural Standard), confirming organic cultivation and processing in Japan. Cultivar A blend of Yabukita and Saemidori — Yabukita for clean green-tea umami, Saemidori for bright color and gentle sweetness. Harvest A blend of first and second spring harvest shade-grown tencha — never later harvests — for a fuller, rounded everyday character. Cultivation Shade-grown tencha, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, for a bright green color and gentle umami. Grade Ceremonial grade — whisk as usucha or prepare as an everyday matcha latte. Production Traditionally stone-milled in small batches in Uji to preserve aroma, color, and texture. Taste profile Smooth and medium-bodied: Yabukita umami and Saemidori sweetness with a light, clean astringency that doesn't linger. Preparation Whisk 1–2 g with hot (not boiling) water for usucha, or with milk or oat milk for a latte — hot or iced. Packaging Packed fresh in a 50 g pull-ring can finished with a Japanese washi paper label; reseal and store cool, dark, and dry.
